What to Expect After Admission Highlands Rehab

What to Expect

Upon admission to Highlands, you will receive a thorough assessment and be assigned to a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals. You and your team will work together to tailor a treatment plan that is designed to meet your needs and achieve your goals. Your physician at Highlands will lead this team and will collaborate with you, your family, and all members of the healthcare team throughout your stay.

As a patient at Highlands, your commitment to the rehabilitation program will be vital to your recovery. Unlike an Acute Care Hospital, much of the benefit of rehabilitation comes from your own efforts.  Our team of experts will partner with you as you make the transition to independence and/or regain your prior level of function.  You should expect to participate in a minimum of three hours of therapy a day, at least five times a week.  The rewards for your participation will be immeasurable.

Discharge planning will begin on day one and continue throughout your stay. This will help you and your loved ones be prepared for the next phase of recovery. You will receive instructions for follow-up care, and recommendations for equipment or additional programs and services to ensure a safe and timely discharge.
